Ventura County, CA (August 6, 2025) — A deadly crash took place Sunday evening along Highway 126 just east of Fillmore, resulting in one fatality and another person seriously hurt.
According to reports, the head-on collision occurred at approximately 7:47 p.m. on August 3. Investigators with the California Highway Patrol stated that a vehicle traveling westbound veered across the center line and struck an oncoming eastbound vehicle.
The impact sent one of the vehicles off the road and down an embankment, where it came to rest on the southbound side of the highway.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle died at the scene, though their identity has not yet been made public. The driver of the westbound vehicle sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Multiple lanes of Highway 126 were temporarily closed while crews cleared the wreckage and authorities began their investigation.
