El Paso County, TX (November 22, 2025) – A devastating head-on crash early Thursday morning took the life of a Horizon man in Far East El Paso County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at approximately 6:43 a.m. on November 20 in the 2500 block of North Ascencion Street near East Montana Middle School. Authorities say a northbound Freightliner dump truck lost control on the wet roadway and veered into oncoming lanes, slamming head-on into a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup, 34-year-old Benjamin Caballero De Anda, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
