North Sacramento, CA (June 6, 2025) — A deadly crash shut down a major roadway in North Sacramento late Saturday night, claiming the life of one man.
According to reports, the collision happened around 9:23 p.m. on May 31 along Rio Linda Boulevard, just north of E Street. Authorities responded quickly and closed traffic in both directions to manage the scene. The crash involved a blue and gray Scion XB, a black Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.
A 47-year-old man from Plumas Lake, who was identified as the wrong-way driver of the Scion XB, was pronounced dead at the scene. A fire chaplain confirmed the fatality. At least one other person was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
