Town of Sherman, WI (July 20, 2025) – A head-on crash in Dunn County claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman Saturday night and left another person injured in the Town of Sherman.
According to reports, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Highway 79, just north of 790th Avenue, shortly before 9:30 p.m. on July 19. When deputies arrived, they found a severely damaged truck in the southbound ditch and a second vehicle in the northbound ditch.
Emergency personnel located the driver of the second vehicle, a 36-year-old woman from Boyceville, deceased inside her car. Her name has not yet been publicly released. The driver of the truck was seriously injured and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Preliminary findings indicate that the woman’s vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck the truck head-on. Authorities have not yet determined why the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, and the investigation remains ongoing.
