Terry County, TX (September 15, 2026) – Halee Williams, 20, of Brownfield, died in a fiery head-on crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck in Terry County on September 12. The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 62 near County Road 670.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety , Williams was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Trax northeast in the southwestbound lanes of U.S. Highway 62 when it collided head-on with a 2017 Ford F-150 driven by 38-year-old Rodrigo Lopez. The Chevrolet caught fire following the impact.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. Lopez suffered serious injuries and was transported to UMC for treatment. A passenger in the Ford, 32-year-old Breanna Cobbs, was also taken to UMC with minor injuries.
