Mille Lacs County, MN (September 26, 2025) – A tragic early morning collision in Mille Lacs County claimed the life of a Rush City woman and left another man hospitalized following a fiery two-vehicle crash.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 6:24 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, along 280th Street near 100th Avenue. Deputies, Onamia Ambulance, and Onamia Fire responded after a 911 caller reported a head-on crash with one vehicle ablaze.
Authorities arrived to find a 2015 Toyota Camry fully engulfed in flames. The driver, identified as 53-year-old Rachael Marie Morey of Rush City, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle, a 2004 Lincoln Navigator, was severely damaged. Its driver, 24-year-old Lucas Timothy Boros of Little Falls, was pulled from the SUV by three brave witnesses moments before the fire consumed the vehicle.
A third vehicle, a 2007 white International semi-truck, was also involved and sustained minor trailer damage. Its driver was unharmed.
