Hammonton, NJ (December 30, 2025) — Both victims involved in a tragic helicopter collision in Hammonton have now been confirmed deceased, following a midair crash that occurred Sunday morning in Atlantic County.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the collision happened shortly after 11:25 a.m. on December 29, 2025, near Basin Road and White Horse Pike. The crash involved two helicopters that had recently taken off from Hammonton Municipal Airport. One of the aircrafts, an Enstrom model F-28A piloted by 65-year-old Kenneth L. Kirsch of Carney’s Point, was critically damaged. Kirsch was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The other pilot, 71-year-old Michael Greenberg of Sewell, was operating an Enstrom 280C and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say both men were the sole occupants of their helicopters and longtime friends who often flew together recreationally.
