Greenville, SC (July 23, 2026) – A 17-year-old skateboarder was fatally injured in an early morning hit-and-run on Wednesday, July 22, near Old Easley Highway and Gethsemane Drive in Greenville. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jose Ines Medina Martinez. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol , Martinez was riding a skateboard west on Old Easley Highway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. Troopers said the vehicle continued away from the scene after the collision.
