Santa Rosa Valley, CA (November 17, 2025) – An investigation is underway after 82-year-old Masako Sakane of Thousand Oaks was struck and killed in a hit-and-run incident late Thursday night in Santa Rosa Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. on November 6 after receiving reports of a body on Santa Rosa Road, just east of Brittany Park Road. Emergency medical personnel transported Sakane to Los Robles Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Authorities say Sakane was walking in the area when she was hit by an unknown vehicle. The motorist did not stop or provide assistance. The Ventura County Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.
