McKee, KY (December 25, 2025) – A tragic house fire late Tuesday night in Jackson County has left three children dead and several others injured, according to authorities.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the fire broke out just before midnight on December 23 at a residence along Upper Dry Fork Road in the McKee area. Emergency crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
Three children—ages 7 months, 2 years, and 3 years—were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth child, age 4, sustained critical injuries and was first transported to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital before being transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Three adults, aged 22, 23, and 76, were also hospitalized in Lexington with injuries sustained during the fire. Their current conditions are unknown. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
