Yolo County, CA (December 11, 2025) — A tragic industrial accident at the Yolo County landfill claimed the life of one person Wednesday morning after a load from a dump truck fell onto another vehicle during unloading operations.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. on December 10 on County Road 28. Two dump trucks, both operated by Northern Recycling, were unloading materials when one of the truck’s loads tipped unexpectedly and collapsed onto the adjacent vehicle.
The Davis Fire Department responded quickly and attempted to extricate the trapped driver from the crushed truck. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Yolo County officials confirmed the incident took place at a landfill operated under lease by Northern Recycling. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office and Cal/OSHA have launched an active investigation into the cause of the fatal accident.
