Woodbridge, NJ (December 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway claimed the life of a young driver Wednesday afternoon, just hours before Christmas Eve celebrations were set to begin.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on December 24 near the Exit 132 entrance ramp in Woodbridge. Authorities say 22-year-old Li Wei Lin of Elizabeth was driving a Honda when his vehicle veered off the right side of the entrance ramp and struck a guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to continue onto the northbound lanes of the parkway, entering perpendicular to oncoming traffic.
A 57-year-old woman from Barnegat, driving a Lexus SUV, collided with the Honda. The Honda then struck a concrete barrier before a 74-year-old driver from Beach Haven, operating a Ram pickup truck, struck the rear of the Lexus.
Tragically, Lin sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexus driver was unharmed, while the driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
