Mesa, AZ (October 1, 2025) – A deadly chain-reaction collision involving a tanker trailer and multiple vehicles claimed the life of one person early Tuesday morning in Mesa.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 2:44 a.m. on September 30 in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 60 near Lindsay Road. Officials say a white passenger car was traveling eastbound when it rear-ended a tanker trailer.
Moments later, the car was struck by two other eastbound vehicles, compounding the severity of the crash. Emergency responders rushed the driver of the white car to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
One other individual was treated for minor injuries and transported for further evaluation. Eastbound US 60 was temporarily closed as investigators worked at the scene.
