San Jose, CA (October 17, 2025) – A man lost his life early Thursday morning after being struck by a garbage truck in a strip mall driveway in San Jose, according to local authorities.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:05 a.m. in the 2800 block of Bascom Avenue. A blue 2020 Peterbilt garbage truck was traveling westbound on Shamrock Drive when it entered a commercial driveway connected to a strip mall.
As the vehicle turned in, it ran over a man who was reportedly lying in the driveway. Emergency personnel responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
