Garland, TX (October 13, 2025) – A man identified as Juan Pablo Rios Aguilar was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a police vehicle in Garland.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on October 10 in the 1500 block of West State Street, near McKinley Street. A Garland police officer was reportedly driving eastbound when their patrol unit collided with a stopped truck occupying the full lane of traffic. The truck’s lights were off, and the area was dark at the time.
Standing near the front of the disabled truck was 32-year-old Aguilar, who was struck in the impact. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The officer involved was also transported to a hospital and later released.
