Tobyhanna Township, PA (February 21, 2026) – A tragic single-vehicle rollover crash along Interstate 380 in Monroe County on the morning of February 20 has claimed the life of a New Jersey man after he was ejected from a work van.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police a work van traveling north on Interstate 380 was moving too fast to safely negotiate slushy roadway conditions at approximately 8:28 a.m. on February 20. Authorities said the driver, 31 year old Ovidio Sarceno-Gonzalez of Trenton, New Jersey, lost control in Tobyhanna Township. The van struck a guide rail along the left shoulder of the Interstate Highway and rolled over several times before coming to rest in the right lane.

During the crash, one passenger, identified by the Monroe County Coroner’s Office as 30 year old Osman A. Perez of New Jersey, was ejected onto the right shoulder. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono, where he was pronounced dead at 8:28 a.m. on February 20. An autopsy was scheduled for February 21. Two additional passengers were taken to Lehigh Valley Pocono Medical Center for minor injuries. Pocono Mountain Regional EMS responded to the scene.
