According to reports, police say a Subaru crossover driven by 33-year-old Philip Webb of Oceanside struck a Nissan pickup truck. The Nissan’s driver was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the victim’s name pending notification of family members. Webb was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury or death and vehicular manslaughter, and will be booked into the Vista Detention Facility. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
