Cranford, NJ (August 20, 2025) – A man was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the incident happened on August 19, 2025, just after 1:40 a.m. when a train departing Newark Penn Station struck an adult male trespasser east of Cranford Station. Emergency crews responded quickly, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
Officials confirmed the train carried 25 passengers and crew, none of whom were injured. Since it was the final scheduled train of the night, New Jersey Transit arranged bus transportation to ensure all passengers reached Raritan safely.
