St. Louis County, MO (October 7, 2025) – Four people are dead following a devastating wrong-way collision Monday afternoon on Interstate 170 in St. Louis County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash occurred around 1:05 p.m. on October 6 in the northbound lanes of I-170, just before the I-70 interchange. Investigators say an 88-year-old man from St. Louis was driving a Chevrolet southbound in the northbound lanes when he struck a Jeep head-on.
The Jeep, operated by a 60-year-old man from Albans, Missouri, overturned and was subsequently hit by a Nissan. The Chevrolet was then struck by a Toyota.
The Jeep driver and his two passengers—a 69-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man, both from Hazelwood—were all pronounced dead at the scene. The elderly wrong-way driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Names of the victims have not yet been released as authorities continue the investigation.
