Donna, TX (September 24, 2025) – A local man lost his life Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on FM 1423 just north of Minnesota Road in Donna.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 3:29 p.m. on September 23. Francisco Perez Lopez, 58, of Donna, was driving a silver Dodge pickup southbound on FM 1423 when he crossed into the northbound lane.
His vehicle sideswiped a gray Toyota Grand Highlander that was heading north, driven by another man. After the initial impact, the Dodge veered off the road and crashed into a nearby fence.
Perez Lopez was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also transported for medical treatment. Authorities have not disclosed the extent of that driver’s injuries.
The Texas DPS is continuing its investigation into the fatal crash.
