Gilroy, CA (January 10, 2025) – Rachel Gonzalez-Gallegos, a 29-year-old pregnant woman, was tragically killed in a DUI-related crash on New Year’s Day in Gilroy. The fatal accident occurred on Leavesley Road near New Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports indicate a speeding GMC pickup truck drifted across double yellow lines and collided head-on with a Chevrolet SUV. Gonzalez-Gallegos, a passenger in the SUV, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her unborn child also did not survive the collision.
The driver of the GMC, 50-year-old Jesus Carlos Temores, is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested. Temores now faces murder charges in connection with the crash.
