Greenfield Township, PA (January 7, 2025) – A fatal collision involving a PennDOT snow plow and an SUV claimed the life of a Ripley, New York man on Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 2:39 PM along Route 89 near Townline Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Erie. Officials reported that snow blowing from a field obstructed the plow driver’s view, leading to the crash. The southbound plow braked abruptly, causing the northbound Jeep to collide with its rear.
The driver of the Jeep, 74-year-old Thomas Dedinsky of Ripley, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was treated. The snow plow operator was unharmed.
