PEARL CITY, HI (January 7, 2025) – A male pedestrian died Monday morning following a hit-and-run crash on Kamehameha Highway near the Texaco gas station.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 3:35 a.m. and found the man, estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old, unconscious with multiple life-threatening injuries. Paramedics performed life-saving measures and transported him to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Honolulu Police Department (HPD) investigators stated that the pedestrian was walking through the eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver left the scene but later reported the crash to authorities.
