HALAWA, HI (January 7, 2024) – A crash involving a box truck carrying propane tanks and a passenger van critically injured a 73-year-old woman Tuesday afternoon, December 31, on the H-1 Freeway near the Aiea off-ramp.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes. According to the Honolulu Police Department, the truck’s roll-up door became ajar while traveling westbound. The 33-year-old driver of the truck stopped to secure the door when his vehicle was rear-ended by a passenger van driven by the 73-year-old woman.
