Hale County, TX (October 25, 2025) – A tragic scene unfolded Friday evening when two Olton residents were killed in a violent head-on collision on United States Highway 70 in Hale County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly incident took place on October 24 when a 2006 BMW passenger car, driven by 29-year-old Tristian Bueno, was traveling westbound and reportedly attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. The vehicle moved into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2022 Ford Edge SUV driven by 57-year-old Julie Bryant, also of Olton.
After the crash, both vehicles erupted in flames. The wreckage of the BMW was then struck by a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup. Thankfully, the Tundra’s driver was not injured.
Both Bueno and Bryant were pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers with Texas DPS continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
