Stanislaus County, CA (December 13, 2025) – A 55-year-old Modesto man was killed early Thursday morning in a violent head-on crash along Albers Road, just south of Dusty Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:35 a.m. on December 11. Responding officers arrived to find a Chrysler sedan and a Nissan pickup truck with major front-end damage. Preliminary findings indicate the Chrysler was traveling southbound on Albers Road when it crossed into the northbound lane, striking the pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the Nissan pickup, a Modesto resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler, a 23-year-old man from Winton in Merced County, sustained major injuries and was transported to Oak Valley Hospital for treatment. Investigators have not yet confirmed whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Both drivers had been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Albers Road was temporarily shut down during the investigation.
