Yuba County, CA (July 12, 2025) — A devastating head-on collision in Yuba County has left two people dead and four others, including two children, with serious injuries.
According to reports, the tragic crash occurred Friday, July 11, around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 70 north of Boyer Road, approximately eight miles from Marysville. The California Highway Patrol says an 18-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the northbound lanes, and collided head-on with a Honda CR-V.
Emergency crews arrived to find both vehicles with severe front-end damage and multiple victims inside. The driver of the Honda CR-V, a 41-year-old man from Roseville, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts. A 34-year-old woman in the CR-V was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries. Two children in the Honda — a 4-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl — suffered serious injuries and were also hospitalized.
The Toyota Camry’s driver and passenger, both from Brentwood, sustained major injuries and remain in the hospital. Highway 70 was closed between Boyer Road and Ramirez Road for about two and a half hours as investigators worked to document the scene and clear debris. CHP is still determining whether drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
