Yuba County, CA (July 13, 2025) — A devastating head-on collision on Highway 70 left two people dead and four others, including two children, with serious injuries Friday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol said the multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Highway 70 north of Boyer Road, in unincorporated Yuba County between Yuba City and Oroville.
According to reports, emergency personnel arrived to find a Honda CRV and a Toyota Camry with severe front-end damage and multiple occupants in need of urgent care. First responders called for both ground and air ambulances while performing life-saving measures at the scene. Tragically, the driver of the Honda, a 41-year-old man from Roseville, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 34-year-old female passenger died later at the hospital. Two children, a 4-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, also riding in the Honda, suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center.
Inside the Toyota Camry, an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both from Brentwood, were also seriously injured. Preliminary findings suggest the Camry lost control while heading southbound, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the Honda head-on. Highway 70 was closed for roughly two and a half hours to allow for rescue operations and the investigation. The highway has since reopened as officials continue to examine what caused this tragic collision.
