According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. on September 14, on Highway 59 just south of Washington Road and west of Chowchilla. Authorities reported that a woman driving a 2022 Toyota Camry was headed southbound when she veered into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons.
The Camry collided head-on with a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by a 30-year-old man. Both drivers were tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding personnel. Their identities have not yet been made public pending notification of next of kin.
