Nuevo, CA (December 13, 2025) – A violent head-on collision involving two vehicles left six people injured Thursday afternoon on the Ramona Expressway near Lakeview Avenue in Nuevo.
According to Riverside County Fire Department, the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on December 11 just west of Lakeview Avenue. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered multiple victims—some lying in the roadway and others upright—after a pickup truck collided head-on with a Kia Optima.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes of the Ramona Expressway. A total of six patients were evaluated on site. Four victims sustained moderate to major injuries and were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Two additional individuals declined medical transport after evaluation.
The eastbound side of the Expressway was fully closed, and a SigAlert was issued at 2:14 p.m. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
