Inland Empire, CA (December 18, 2025) – A dramatic police chase across Southern California late Tuesday night ended in a crash involving a California Highway Patrol officer and the fleeing suspect on Interstate 15.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pursuit began in Ventura County on December 17 after officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling without headlights or license plates along the 101 Freeway. The suspect fled at speeds reaching 110 miles per hour, weaving through multiple counties and entering the San Fernando Valley before continuing southbound.
Despite a failed spike strip deployment near San Fernando, officers eventually succeeded in deploying a second spike strip as the vehicle approached downtown. However, the suspect continued to flee. Foggy conditions forced the CHP’s SkyCal helicopter to disengage from the chase.
By 11:00 p.m., the pursuit came to an end with a collision between the suspect’s vehicle and a CHP patrol unit on the 15 Freeway, just north of the 138 Freeway in the Inland Empire. One officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody.
