Toledo, OH (July 29, 2025) – Law enforcement is searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that left five people hurt in a multi-vehicle accident along Interstate 75 in Wood County.

According to reports, the crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on July 27 near milepost 185 in Middleton Township. A northbound Chevrolet Tahoe reportedly rear-ended a Toyota Prius, causing the Prius to crash into a Ford Expedition. The impact sent the Prius off the right side of the road, where it struck a ditch and came to rest near a pond.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol say the driver of the Tahoe fled the scene immediately after the crash and has not yet been identified.

The 20-year-old driver of the Prius sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Four occupants in the Ford Expedition were transported to area hospitals with injuries described as minor.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
