Pacoima, CA (August 6, 2025) — A tragic hit-and-run crash on Monday evening claimed the life of a woman and her dog while crossing a street in Pacoima.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on August 3 at the intersection of Osborne Street and Haddon Avenue. Gloria Vasquez, 76, was reportedly walking her dog across Osborne Street outside of a marked crosswalk when both were struck by an eastbound Honda Accord.

Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene, and her dog also died as a result of its injuries.

The driver of the Honda fled immediately after the crash. However, Los Angeles police later apprehended 31-year-old Ever Marquez of Pacoima, who is now in custody in connection with the incident.

The Los Angeles Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances of the fatal collision.
