San Diego, CA (August 5, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized Tuesday morning following a bus crash on State Route 163 in San Diego. Emergency crews responded after the vehicle veered into the right-hand shoulder of the southbound highway.

According to reports, the collision occurred at approximately 9:02 a.m. on August 5. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department reported that the bus had impacted the shoulder, prompting an immediate emergency response. By 9:17 a.m., first responders had gained access to the bus by opening its doors.

One person required CPR at the scene and was then transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. A second individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken for medical evaluation.

The California Highway Patrol has launched an investigation to determine what led to the crash. No other vehicles have been reported as involved at this time.
