San Diego, CA (August 24, 2025) — A violent crash early Saturday morning in the Black Mountain Ranch area left a 19-year-old man with life-threatening injuries after colliding with another vehicle on Carmel Valley Road.
According to reports, San Diego Police responded to the scene at approximately 12:19 a.m. on August 24. Authorities say the teen was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on Carmel Valley Road at a high rate of speed when he veered onto the south sidewalk, lost control, and crossed the roadway center median.
After crashing into a tree, the Civic continued into westbound lanes where it collided with an oncoming Honda Accord driven by an 18-year-old man. The Civic driver was ejected from the vehicle, suffering severe brain trauma and multiple fractures. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.
Police confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
