Wayland, NY (August 19, 2026) – Two 23-year-old Rochester women suffered serious injuries after a vehicle left West Naples Street and struck several trees and a home in Wayland on August 16. New York State Police responded near West Naples Street and Saint John Street at approximately 2:42 p.m.
According to the New York State Police , the eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the westbound lane, and traveled off the roadway before hitting multiple trees and a house.
The driver was transported to Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville with serious injuries. Her passenger was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, also with serious injuries. Police reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt, while the passenger was restrained. No other injuries were reported.
