Grass Valley, CA (November 25, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle accident late Monday morning that left one person with major injuries on State Route 49 near Combie Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:59 a.m. on November 24, along the northbound side of CA-49 just south of Combie Road. A USPS vehicle was found positioned sideways across both lanes, while a blue sedan had come to rest along the right shoulder of the highway. Firefighters were dispatched to extricate a trapped individual from one of the vehicles.
That victim was eventually freed and transported for medical care with serious injuries. No arrests were made in connection with the collision. Traffic on northbound CA-49 was disrupted as emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the roadway.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
