Metairie, LA (October 11, 2024) – A Jefferson Parish deputy was injured Friday morning after a suspect crashed a stolen vehicle into the deputy’s patrol car.
According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO), the incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. when a stolen car was located in the 2200 block of Edenborn Avenue in Metairie. As deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect crashed into a JPSO unit before fleeing on foot.
The suspect was later apprehended and arrested. The deputy, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. JPSO reported that the deputy is expected to be released soon.
It is currently unclear what charges the suspect will face, as the investigation is ongoing.
