Bakersfield, CA (October 14, 2024) – Krystal Reynaga has been identified as the woman who died in a traffic collision Sunday morning at an intersection in Bakersfield.

The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. on October 13 at the intersection of Niles Street and Kern Street. According to the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD), a patrol vehicle was traveling westbound on Niles Street when it was struck by a northbound car that failed to stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while Reynaga, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

A 2-year-old child who was also in the vehicle remains hospitalized.
