LEMON GROVE, CA (January 8, 2025) – Nadia Charles and Joseph Junior Saint Juste, both 20-year-old residents of Lemon Grove, were fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and Buena Vista Avenue on New Year’s Day.
The Lemon Grove Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 11:17 PM in the 7600 block of Broadway. An Acura sedan traveling eastbound on Broadway collided with a southbound Toyota sedan at the intersection. The impact caused the Acura to veer onto the sidewalk, striking Charles and Saint Juste, who were standing at the southeast corner.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet determined if any charges will be filed. Further details about the circumstances of the collision are expected as the investigation progresses.
