San Diego, CA (August 23, 2025) – A young man lost his life Tuesday afternoon in a rollover crash in the Talmadge area of San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on August 20 on Fairmount Avenue, just north of Aldine Drive. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Matthew Jack Jimenez of Escondido, was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 northbound when he lost control of the vehicle.
Authorities say the truck overturned and rolled onto an embankment. Jimenez was ejected from the vehicle and tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and whether speed or other factors may have contributed.
