According to reports, the tragic incident happened on June 23 when a vehicle attempted to cross Ambassador Caffery Parkway from Galbert Road. While doing so, the car was struck on the driver’s side by a motorcycle ridden by 27-year-old Andrew Bollinger of Lafayette, who was traveling northbound in the outside lane.
Responding officers found Bollinger unresponsive at the scene. He was rushed to Lafayette General Medical Center, where he was sadly pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries described as minor to moderate and showed no signs of impairment after testing.
