Rohnert Park, CA (October 10, 2025) – A motorcyclist tragically lost their life Thursday morning in Rohnert Park after a collision with a passenger vehicle on Highway 101, authorities confirmed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 10:15 a.m. on October 10 on the southbound side of Highway 101 near Golf Course Drive. A maroon Ford Fusion traveling in the left lane swerved to avoid road debris, lost control on the wet roadway, and crossed multiple lanes. A 1974 Harley-Davidson motorcycle then collided with the right front side of the Ford.
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. Emergency personnel responded swiftly and performed CPR, but the victim was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The driver of the Ford was unharmed in the incident.
Southbound Highway 101 was shut down for approximately two hours, reopening around 12:30 p.m. The victim’s identity will be released by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office pending family notification.
