San Bernardino, CA (August 6, 2025) — A lane-splitting motorcycle crash on State Route 71 in San Bernardino caused traffic delays and lane closures early Tuesday morning, though the motorcyclist involved was reportedly up and walking after the incident.
According to reports, California Highway Patrol responded at approximately 7:27 a.m. on August 6 to a multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, a gray Acura RDX, and a white Toyota hatchback. The incident occurred just south of Euclid Avenue and led to significant traffic disruptions.
Initial reports indicated that the motorcyclist was lane-splitting when he was hit by a merging vehicle, then collided with another. The white Toyota hatchback came to rest in Lane 1, creating a traffic hazard, while the Acura RDX stopped on the right shoulder. The motorcycle and another involved vehicle were found in the center divider. CHP units confirmed the rider was conscious, on his phone, and leaning against the divider wall when they arrived.
CHP Unit A74-030 held Lane 2 while awaiting a flatbed tow for the motorcycle. Hamner Tow was dispatched but reported being delayed due to traffic in the area.
