Benicia, CA (August 27, 2025) – A motorcyclist was tragically killed Tuesday morning in a collision involving a semi-truck on the Benicia Bridge along southbound Interstate 680.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:58 a.m. on August 26. A man riding a motorcycle at slow speeds in the No. 1 lane reportedly lost control and went down. He slid partially into the No. 2 lane, where he was struck by the rear wheels of a passing big rig.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the rider deceased at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
All southbound lanes of I-680 were closed while investigators processed the scene and cleared debris. Traffic resumed around 10:33 a.m. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
