El Dorado County, CA (October 9, 2024) – A local resident, John Kelsey, 46, was airlifted to a hospital Monday night after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash. The collision occurred around 6:50 p.m. on October 7 along Greenstone Road, where Kelsey’s motorcycle collided with a Toyota Corolla.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials, Kelsey suffered severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis, a compound arm fracture, and an arterial bleed. El Dorado County Fire Protection District first responders arrived shortly after the crash, and due to the severity of Kelsey’s injuries, a CHP helicopter (H-24) was dispatched to airlift him to the hospital.
The helicopter landed at Buckeye School within 8 minutes of the 911 call, and Kelsey was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. His current condition remains unknown.
The occupants of the Toyota Corolla were unharmed. CHP officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
