Santa Barbara, CA (September 20, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash at a busy Santa Barbara intersection sent one person to the hospital Friday morning, according to local authorities.
According to the California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the collision occurred around 11 a.m. on September 20 at the intersection of Montecito Street and Rancheria Street. The crash involved a compact SUV, a pickup truck, and a third vehicle.
Officials stated that the SUV was traveling westbound on Montecito Street when it rear-ended the pickup truck. The impact also caused a third vehicle to become involved, though it sustained only minor damage.
The SUV’s engine compartment caught fire after the impact, but firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. The driver of the SUV was transported by AMR to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
