According to the New Jersey State Police, the collision occurred around 5:42 p.m. on December 27, 2025, in the northbound lanes of the bridge. Officials from the Delaware River & Bay Authority reported that sleet and freezing rain had just begun falling when the accident took place, creating slick and dangerous travel conditions.
