NEWHALL, CA (January 7, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on Railroad Avenue and Oak Ridge Drive claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy on Saturday night, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:49 p.m. when the boy, riding a dirt bike motorcycle northbound in the southbound lane of Railroad Avenue, collided head-on with an oncoming van. After the initial impact, the boy fell off the dirt bike and was struck by a second vehicle.
The second vehicle trapped the boy underneath, prompting emergency crews to perform on-scene treatment before transporting him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. Despite medical efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at 7:32 a.m. Sunday morning.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
