Gerber, CA (August 30, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash in Tehama County left one person hospitalized on the southbound side of Interstate 5 on Friday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened just before 5 p.m. on August 29, south of Chard Avenue in Gerber.
According to CHP, the crash involved a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Volkswagen sedan. During the impact, one of the vehicles rolled over, and the sedan veered off the roadway and down an embankment.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported one person to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital with minor injuries, including cuts to the back of the head. The current condition of the individual has not been released.
The vehicles were significantly damaged in the crash. CHP officers are actively investigating the events leading up to the collision.
